Dispatches from the west.

At 10.43pm on a Tuesday night, I find myself sat in bed with my laptop and moody cat. It just dawned on me that the last two weeks or so has been one of the best times i've had in over a year because of the amazing people (who I won't name but i'm sure they know who they are) i've been lucky enough to hang out with, keep me company or just be genuinely good to me. I also  recently realised that my hatred towards mankind had dropped somewhat, until i got a phone call from my Psycologist but that's another story and that was the end of that feeling of euphoria. It's ironic that sometimes the people or person you care about the most are the ones to fuck you over without a second thought. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Swings and Roundabouts. Life goes on and all that bullshit.
After sitting in traffic on the M5, we arrived at Campbelltown Sports Centre earlier this evening. Sydney F.C started their pre-season against a team who's name escapes me, in fucking Campbelltown on a brisk Tuesday night. The average age of the crowd was about 15 and it seemed that 15 year olds don't feel the cold as Nautica caps and walk-shorts were in abundance. The highlight wasn't even the match itself. Whoever the fuck number 14 is for Sydney should pack his bags and jog on. The $10 price of admission was proved well worth it though, as midway through the first half, flares were let off and security fucking demolished some dude who didn't move for the rest of the match until the Ambulance crew came and carted him off on a stretcher. This guy was laid out, but i guess that's what you get when you throw a wheelie bin and start handing out fly kicks like it's the best idea in the world. I don't know, maybe he thought his Judas Priest fingerless leather gloves were going to somehow magically protect him from the punishment he received. People like that annoy me. He was certainly the odd one out as he looked like a cross between Rob Halford and a bald Yngwie Malmsteen, among a sea of pre-pubescent juvenile delinquents. Also guy, someone is going to notice you hurling a green wheelie bin around so you've done yourslef no favours.
There were some older chavs around but they mostly kept to themselves until the Police turned up, and almost on instinct split up and got the fuck out of there as quick as they could even though they literally did nothing wrong.
I enjoy people watching, and it's interesting observing groups of younger people in that age bracket and you just know the path they are on and where they are heading. No guesswork. They have been brought up in a certain environment, and they will most likely be the one to jack your shit at an ATM or demand you hand over your expensive as shit Northface Jacket, just because they can. If that's our hope for the future, that is a truly demoralising situation we will find ourselves in.
Capping off the night though, was seeing old mate Zeljko "Spider" Kalac having a kick about. One of the worst goalkeepers ever, who played for one of the world's biggest clubs was kicking balls at halftime in Campbelltown. If you asked me to list things that i never thought i would see, that scenario would be up there.
Anyway, humanity sucks, and there's a tonne of people out there who are shit but it's how we endure it and treat others that defines us in the end.
I don't know.
Fuck it, i guess.

  3. Zeljko Kalac - "One of the worst goalkeepers ever" - Are you serious? Sorry he didnt get a chance to play regular games like bosnich or schwarzer, but at least he was there, he played for one of the biggest clubs in italy, granted he was back up but still to get there i dont think you could be classed as one to the worst goalkeepers ever. Its pretty easy to say that sitting behind your laptop, i doubt you have anywhere near the will power or dedication to even come close to reaching the top level of anything you strive towards. You should be proud that an Australian from western sydney has made it to such a elite level. Give yourself an uppercut you idiot!

  4. cool your jets, you misunderstand. i think it's amazing he's achieved so much at Milan and was genuinely stoked to see him last night, but apparantly i have to share your opinion and am not allowed one of my own.

Nicole - just a bunch of shit that i have to process that i guarantee you, noone here wants to hear about.

    1. Your entitled to your opinion, it sounds like you know what your talking about. But let me ask you a few things, if a back up keeper at Milan is one of the worst goalkeppers ever then the hundreds of thousands of keepers trying to assertain at least a backup sport at any team in a top division and below and dont make it would have to be worse right??? Obviously not in your opinion. Im sure a team such as milan would pay millions to one of the worst goalkeepers ever right??? Obviously in your opinion. I suppose you proabbly know more then them, you obvioulsy have a deep insight into the makings of a quality goal keeper, you proably have played in europe and you understand what they go through to get there right??? you must, to have an opinion like "One of the worst goalkeepers ever".
P.S. Next time you have an opinion you should probably tell people why you have this opinion not just say it, i personally would love to know how you came up with your opinion on Kalac?? More so, so that people who read these things you post realise that your 'opinion' is pretty much worthless because your really have no knowledge on the topic. Its pretty easy to sit behind a computer and offer your opinion on topics you dont really know about.
P.P.S Did you give yourself an uppercut??? If not give yourself one!

  5. a)not once did i claim to know more than you
b)i'm assuming you've seen the mistakes he made both for Milan and Australia? if you have, you'd know he hasn't got the safest pair of hands or feet in the game. for further proof, refer to point C

    1. I never is said he was the best keeper, i simply said he is definatley not one of the 'worst ever'
Well done you went to youtube to find a video of a mistake. I suppose your perfect and you do not make mistakes. Im sure when your under extreme pressure, you never crack. It must be great being able to walk around knowing that no matter what happens, no matter what the pressure you wont make a mistake. I suppose this is why you get calls froms your Psycologist, he is probably asking you for advise.
Look i can find a video of a good save(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKl4b_DbTNc)
Seriously record yourself giving yourself an uppercut and send me the youtube link to that!
