This last year has definitely seen the rise of diverse digital radio in Australia. This weekend, the peeps over at ABC will be celebrating 40 years since Jimi Hendrix's death, with two days of non stop Jimi, streaming via digital radio or online. Get supplies, sit back and join the ABC studio operators in a weekend of non stop chilling (and toking). (VIA RED)
(ABC RADIO ONLINE) It's forty years since Jimi Hendrix died in London, aged 27. Nobody revolutionised the way rock guitar is played the way he did. He released only three studio albums during his lifetime but these, along with his live performances, made him a legend. To mark the anniversary of his death, the ABC will create ABC Jimi Hendrix, a digital radio station for the weekend of 18 and 19 September, which will play rare documentaries about Hendrix and feature much of his amazing music.
Starts: 9am AEST Saturday 18 September
Ends: 9pm AEST Sunday 19 September
Check it out here.
