Some people have their finger on the pulse, some people have their finger jammed right up into some arteries with blood spurting everywhere, That's how damn close they are to the pulse.
New york dj/producer Max Tennone falls under the latter. His productions first coming to my attention with his Mos Dub project splicing together Mos Def with some dub classics. It appears though, i have been sleeping on Mr Tannone's work. One of his first projects being "Jaydiohead"(2008) which i was hoping was a mash of Jay Dilla and Radiohead, but just as exciting is that its actually a mix of Jay-Z and Radiohead. Next up is "double check ya head" (2009) which is Beastie Boy's vocals over the instrumentals from check ya head. Next up is the aforementioned Mos Dub(2009) project which brings us to the latest release.
Dub Kweli, which follows the same formula of Mos dub, being dub and reggae classics with the vocals of Talib Kweli over the top. As with the rest of these releases, they are put up on the world wide web for you to download free of charge, for your listening pleasures.
That's right as i said "finger jammed right up into some arteries with blood spurting everywhere
