If Only Duct Tape Could Fix Everything.

Technology sometimes is a truly wondrous thing. Take the ipod, for instance. How cool is it that we are able to carry our entire music collection in our pockets. What's even cooler, is that i carry a tool in my pocket (hahah) that makes it possible to drown out the sounds everyone around me who are carrying on about their mundane, shitty lives.

On the other hand, technology can be wildy lame. I love reading. I love books. I love the process of going to book shops, turning the pages and all that. Makes me feel somewhat human for a while. Anyway, i was on the bus the other day and some complete tosser with a manbag and a shitty fucking haircut sits next to me. No biggie, i have "Slaughter Of The Soul" cranking in my headphones and i'm getting into the book i am reading so i'm set. After a couple minutes of fidgeting through is manbag, this dipshit pulls out what I at first, thought was a giant size calculator with a massive screen. This intrigued my so i managed to get a glimpse of something called a "Kindle". It sure sounds like something a smug, manbag carrying prick would use so i googled this shit.

Turns out it's the book version of the ipod, which in my opinion is fucking lame. You can download and store thousands of books in this thing which, again, is fucking lame. I don't know about you, but when i read a book, i like the physicality of turning the page, finishing chapters and using bookmarks.Small things, i know, but fuck that. You hit play on a boombox/walkman/discman/ipod and you continue walking/strutting along. Awesome. You DON'T click a "next" button to turn the page of "Catcher In The Rye". That's just plain wrong. Since when would you rather stare at pixels on a screen, clicking buttons to get to the next page all the while looking like a complete tool, than hold the tangible product of awesomeness that is a good book, in your hands?!

Sometimes i think the less i think about myself, the better i feel, but then i start thinking about pointless things like this that some of you read, and for that i apologise.

Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's weird that i think like that, but then again, who really cares?

Oh, Deftones - Diamond Eyes is amazing. You should get it.
