With creepy old muffin the proud owner of a glastonbury festival ticket its time, for him / me (yes sorry for speaking in the 3rd person) to get all excited as the lineup dribbles out through the official website. Appart from the main heapline act in U2 (ew), Stevie Wonder (yeeewwwww) and muse (spew). Parts of the line up have been filtering through, The West Holts stage formaly the jazz world stages has been releases, and it's looking quite nice indeed.
We're going back to the real roots of Worthy Farm and its history with the name change for the stage," says Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis. "West Holts was a 'halt' originally; one of the two places where we had to open the level crossing gates across the old railway line to get the cattle through for milking. It was a fair walk up to the farm, just as it is now, and those cows took some driving!"
West Holts will feature the best groove-based music from around the world, with living legends sharing the bill with cutting-edge newcomers. Asked to sum up the sound of Glastonbury's newest stage the answer was: "Global future roots music."
