Nova's oops i mean JJJ's hottest 100

This years hottest 100 came too a close yesterday and kinda spun me out. Apart from this years top 20 sounding more like a prime time nova playlist, i've always felt over the years JJJ has been getting closer to commercial radio and this kinda proves the national youth broadcaster is loosing its touch (or maybe i'm loosing touch). I hear you say, "you cant blame JJJ cause it is independently voted by the listening public" (over 1.5 million votes this year). well yes, of sorts but these songs are playlisted and played on high rotation to death, too get into peoples heads. I can say that i can't recall even hearing the number one song buy Mumford and sons on local sydney community radio (FBI) enough too remember it and don't even start me on the number 2 song by art vs science. Seriously do people actually like this song its fucked and it angers me.

I regard pitchforks end of year lists as pretty spot on for songs of the year and they picked "animal collective My Girls" as #1 and that came in at number 70 on JJJ. Pichfork had Grizzly Bears 2 weeks at number 5 but on JJJ it came in at 61 this is bullshit. Pitchforks top 20 had tracks by Joker, fuck buttons, the xx, joy Orbison, Girls, Neon Indian, Bat for Lashes, the dirty projectors and more. compared with the horrible collection of tunes bellow from JJJ
